GJEPC has also drawn up plans for two more cluster for gems and jewellery, in Rajkot and Coimbatore. The Howrah cluster would be located on the Kona Expressway connecting the highways to Delhi and Mumbai. GJEPC was planning to set up a technical institute at the site like the one in Mumbai.
Pankaj Parekh, convenor of GJEPC in the eastern region, said it had held talks with the West Bengal government.
