However, the overall stake of foreign investors increased marginally in the energy giant to 17.76% from 17.7% during the period.
Infosys, Tata Steel and Hindalco also saw significant level exit of FIIs during the past two fiscals.

The number of Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) shareholders in RIL fell from a record 1,276 at the end of March 2011 to 1,085 as of March 31, 2013, according to latest information available with the stock exchanges.
Overall, RIL continued to top the list of stocks with maximum number of FII shareholders. The energy giant is closely followed by private sector lender ICICI Bank with 1,064 FII shareholders, while mortgage lender HDFC has 1,061 overseas shareholders.
Broadly, the entry and exit of FIIs impacts the company's stock prices. The aggregate number of FIIs stake in a scrip indicates foreign investors' interest in a company.
Of 30 blue-chips on the BSE index, Sensex, only eight saw decline in the number of FII shareholders in the past two fiscal years, while the remaining 22 witnessed an increase.
Moreover, 15 of the Sensex companies witnessed an addition of at least 100 new FII shareholders during the period.
Infosys saw 189 FIIs exiting the technology giant. The number of FII shareholders fallen to 800 at the end of March 31, 2013 from 989 as on March 2011.
Additionally, number of overseas shareholders in Tata Steel tumbled by 172 to 511 at the end of March 31, 2013, while their numbers in Hindalco plunged by 165 to 417 and the number of FII shareholders dived by 89 to 372 in Sterlite Industries.
On the other hand, ITC saw an addition of 336 FIIs shareholders since fiscal year ended March 31, 2011. The aggregate number of shareholders in the FMCG company climbed to 1,008 from 672.
Also, Sun Pharma added 316 FII shareholders to a total of 684, while the number of overseas shareholders in technology firm Tata Consultancy Services rose by 243 to 883.
Among others, which saw addition of FIIs shareholders are NTPC (193), ICICI Bank (188) and Hindustan Unilever (182).
As on April 30, 2013, as many as 1,767 FIIs were registered in the country.
