In the auction of government bonds for Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) the bidding was much more aggressive than last time with the quota on offer being very small.
The total market demand was worth Rs 2,094 crore while the amount available for auction was Rs 646 crore.
The total number of bidders were 66. In the previous auction the total demand was Rs 8,961 crore while the amount available for auction was Rs 4,176 crore.
The FII limit in government bonds is near full due to which FIIs have started buying corporate bonds where the limits are still available.
According to latest date from National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) foreign investors had exhausted over 99.32% of the available limit in government debt (auctions) as on Monday.
