FIIs sell shares worth Rs 14.47 crore

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) today sold shares worth Rs 14.47 crore, amid a weak market where the benchmark indices closed in negative territory.

FIIs were the gross buyers of shares worth Rs 2,424.20 crore, while they sold equities valued at Rs 2,438.67 crore resulting in a net sell of Rs 14.47 crore, according to the provisional data available with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Domestic institutional investors also booked profit and sold shares worth Rs 875.92 crore.

On Friday, FIIs were the net buyers of shares worth Rs 1,417.40 crore, as per the latest data available with the market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

In today's trade, proprietors also followed FIIs and sold shares worth Rs 105.22 crore.

However, brokers, on the behalf of their clients, and non-resident Indians (NRIs) showed their confidence in market and made a total net investment of Rs 239.86 crore.

The BSE's 30-scrip Sensex today plunged 437.63 points or 3 per cent to close at 14,665.92 points.
