The Sensex is now up 46 points at 14,770.
The NSE Nifty is up three points at 4,433.
Financial and technology stocks are the prominent gainers so far. HDFC Bank has rallied 3.7% to Rs 1,219, and HDFC has surged 3.5% to Rs 2,368. ICICI Bank has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 686.
Satyam has gained 2.7% at Rs 423. Infosys and TCS have moved up 2% each to Rs 1,723 and Rs 847, respectively. Wipro has added 1.6% to Rs 436.
Hindustan Unilever has gained over 2% at Rs 244. BHEL, Jaiprakash Associates and Larsen & Toubro are up around 1.5% each at Rs 1,734, Rs 175 and Rs 2,698, respectively.
Grasim has slipped over 3% to Rs 1,992, and Hindalco has shed 2.5% at Rs 132.

Reliance and Sterlite have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 2,235 and Rs 610, respectively.
Tata Motors and Ranbaxy are down around 1.5% each at Rs 426 and Rs 493, respectively.
The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,235 stocks traded so far, 1,137 have moved up, 1,010 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
