The recent trend of flat opening continues, with the Sensex resuming marginally higher over its yesterday's close at 6,834. However, strong early upsurge in tech, select heavyweights and banking stocks propelled the gains of the index to a high of 6,884. While the Sensex has gained 46 points to 6,878, the Nifty, too, has firmed up in early trades to 2,115 - up 12 points over its last close.Infosys has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 17) to Rs 2,254. Wipro at Rs 737 (up Rs 10 or 1.42%), Satyam at Rs 469 (up Rs 6 or 1.25%) and TCS at Rs 1,290 (up Rs 13) have clocked strong gains in early trades.Reliance has gained a per cent (Rs 5) to Rs 564. While ITC, too, is up a per cent (Rs 10) at Rs 1,586, HLL, which rallied sharply yesterday, has commenced marginally lower at Rs 147.HDFC Bank has gained 1.39% (Rs 8) to Rs 586, after trading weak yesterday. SBI, too, has resumed in the green at Rs 694 - up Rs 5.Ranbaxy, after a sharp drop yesterday, has logged 1.50% gains (Rs 16) to Rs 1,086. Dr. Reddy's and Cipla have registered steady gains in early trades at Rs 715 and Rs 295, respectively.
