Future Retail, Ashok Leyland, RPG Life Sciences, Vimta Labs and Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network are among 21 stocks from the mid-and-smallcap index touch their respective 52-week highs on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Future Retail has rallied 15% to Rs 166 on the BSE on back of three-fold jump in trading volumes. Since November 6, the stock zoomed 41% from Rs 118 after the company reported a stand-alone net profit of Rs 13.66 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2015 against a net loss of Rs 8.04 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal.
Till 11:55 AM, a combined 2.82 million shares changed hands on the counter on the BSE and NSE.
Vimta Labs soared 15% to Rs 106 on back of an over eight-fold jump in trading volumes. The company engaged in healthcare services business has zoomed 45% from Rs 73 on November 6, after reported a more-than-doubled net profit of Rs 2.48 crore in September quarter. It had profit of Rs one crore in the same quarter previous year.
IDBI Bank surged 9% to Rs 94.60, also its 52-week high, on reports that the government is in talks with the International Finance Corp. (IFC) to sell stake in the bank.
RPG Life Sciences was up 6% at Rs 315, after hitting a 52-week high of Rs 320 in early morning trade. The stock surged 18% in past two trading sessions on reports that the company is charting out a plan to enter the skin care segment as a part of its strategy to move towards customer facing businesses. The company said that it is in the midst of developing the long term strategy and the news appeared is premature.
Aegis Logistics, Garware-Wall Ropes, APL Apollo Tubes, Gayatri Projects, Kwality, JK Paper, Nelco, Vivimed Labs and Mahindra Holidays are among others from 21 stocks that hit 52-week highs today.
Thus far in November, the BSE S&P smallcap (up 2.8%) and midcap (0.38%) has outperforming the market by recording gain as compared to 1.9% decline in S&P BSE Sensex.
