Gains intact; Reliance moves up 4%

The Sensex is now up 462 points at 14,254.

The NSE Nifty is up 119 points at 4,309.

HDFC has soared 7.4% to Rs 2,261. Tata Power and Tata Steel have surged nearly 7% each to Rs 1,115 and Rs 624, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Reliance Infrastructure have rallied 6% each to Rs 1,090 and Rs 963, respectively.

Wipro and ICICI Bank have gained 4.8% each at Rs 422 and Rs 637, respectively.

BHEL and SBI have moved up 4.3% each to Rs 1,660 and Rs 1,377, respectively. Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications have added 4% each to Rs 810 and Rs 510, respectively.

Reliance, Ranbaxy, Sterlite and Grasim have advanced around 3.5% each to Rs 2,162, Rs 492, Rs 613 and Rs 1,850, respectively.

ACC, Jaiprakash Associates and Satyam are up over 3% each at Rs 588, Rs 158 and Rs 380, respectively.

NTPC has shed 4.5% at Rs 171. ITC is down 1.5% at Rs 187.

Out of 2,577 stocks traded so far, 1,810 have advanced, 689 have declined and 78 are unchanged.
