The stocks of companies engaged in the tea business have witnessed moderate gains, barring a few companies, in last three months on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Share price of Tata Tea fell from Rs 368 on March 1, to yesterday's close of Rs 344.40, down 6.41 per cent on the BSE.

During the same period the stock price of Tata Coffee, its subsidiary, rose from Rs 129.44 to Rs 130.00 up by a mere 0.43 per cent. Bombay Burmah fell from Rs 61.75 to Rs 55.55 down 10.04 per cent and Assam Co rose from Rs 22.95 to Rs 25.70, up 11.98 per cent.

The price of Dhunseri Tea appreciated from Rs 23 to Rs 30.75 up by 33.69. Williamson Tea rose from Rs 75.50 to Rs 87.05 up by 15.29 per cent and Harrison Malayalam increased from Rs 26.30 to Rs 27.50 up by a minor 4.56 per cent. William Magor saw a rise of 7.44 per cent from Rs 13.03 to Rs 14.00.

The share price of Goodricke witnessed a hike in prices from Rs 34.90 to Rs 47.40, up 35.81 per cent, Warren Tea rose from Rs 49.90 to Rs 54.25, up 8.71 per cent, Parry Agro moved down from Rs 155.44 to Rs 145.00 a decline of 7.2 per cent and Assambrook appreciated from Rs 15.15 to Rs 18.30 up by 2.07 per cent.

The share price of Jay Shree Tea witnessed a jump in prices from Rs 55.80 to Rs 63.30, a rise of 13.44 per cent, Ledo Tea rose from Rs 19.95 to Rs 25.30, up 26.81 per cent, AFT Industries saw a minor rise of 19.48 per cent from Rs 58.00 to Rs 69.30.

Asian Tea rose 60.96 per cent from Rs 3.10 to Rs 4.99, and DPIL Ltd closed 9.43 per cent down at Rs 31.20 as of May 6, compared with Rs 34.45 earlier.

The price of CCL rose from Rs 66.45 to Rs 68.50 up 3.08 per cent and B&A Ltd rose from Rs 12 to Rs 13.80, up 15 per cent.
