The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) is organising the Metal Seminar 2004, an annual international conference, on November 4 and 5 in Kolkata. |
The theme of the seminar would be "Iron and Steel:Is India the next giant?". |

Luminaries from the global steel industry, and participants from the three largest companies in the world, Arcelor, Ispat International and Posco, and from Corus, Nippon Steel, SMS Demag and Danielli of Italy would be attending. Domestic majors like SAIL, Tata Steel, RINL, Jindal, Essar and Ispat would be present as well. |

Biswadip Gupta, president of BCCI, said, the lifetime achievement award would be conferred on O P Jindal of the Jindal group, and the chief minister of West Bengal, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, would present the award. |
