Gloster has soared 16% to Rs 609 on the BSE after the company announced bonus issue plan.

The board of directors of the company will meet on March 29, 2016 to consider issue of bonus shares, Gloster said in a statement.

The company engaged in the business of jute goods had posted more than doubled net profit of Rs 19.41 crore for the first nine months (April-December 2015) of the current financial year 2015-16 (FY16) against Rs 7.70 crore in the same period last fiscal. It had reported profit of Rs 13.23 crore in entire FY15.

In past one year, the stock appreciated by 212% from Rs 195 as compared to 10% decline in the S&P BSE Sensex. It touched 52-week high of Rs 768 on December 29, 2015 in intra-day trade.

At 11:24 AM, the stock was up 11% at Rs 580 as compared to 0.07% decline in the benchmark index. Around 3,700 shares changed hands on the counter on the BSE so far.
