Gold prices declined by 0.97% to Rs 25,934 per 10 grams in the futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions in tandem with a weak trend in global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, October gold declined by Rs 253, or 0.97% to Rs 25,934 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 6,103 lots.
The December contract lost Rs 256, or 0.97% to Rs 26,185 per 10 grams in 1,219 lots.
Market analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators in tandem with a weakening global trend mainly led to the fall in gold futures prices.
Meanwhile, gold dropped by 1.1% to $1,632.05 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today.
