Gold prices declined by Rs 23, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 19,182 per ten gram in futures trade today, as speculators reduced their positions in tandem with a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, gold for December fell by Rs 23, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 19,182 per ten gram, with an open interest of 6,638 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in October lost Rs 17, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 19,087 per ten gram, with an open interest of 18,064 lots.
Marketmen said speculators reduced their positions on the back of weakening global trend mainly led to a fall in gold prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, gold declined by $2.30 to $1,252.90 an ounce in Asian region.
