Gold prices recovered by Rs 60 to Rs 18,425 per ten gram in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and jewellers to meet the upcoming festive demand.
Marketmen said fresh buying by stockists and jewellers for the upcoming festival season pushed up gold and silver prices.
Gold of 99.99 and 99.5 per cent purity recovered by Rs 60 each to Rs 18,425 and Rs 18,325 per ten gram, respectively. They had lost Rs 60 in the previous session.
However, sovereign remained steady at Rs 14,700 per piece of eight gram.
In a similar fashion, silver ready gained Rs 50 to Rs 29,300 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 15 to Rs 29,015 per kg.
Silver coins maintained their last level of Rs 34,400 for buying and Rs 34,500 for selling of 100 pieces.
