In restricted activity, gram and its dal prices strengthened further by Rs 50 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today on pick up in demand from retailers amid slow down in arrivals.

Elsewhere, other commodities traded in a tight range in the absence of worthwhile activity, and settled around previous levels.

Traders said pick up in demand from retailers against tight supply, following less arrival led to rise in gram and its dal wholesale prices.

Gram remained in demand and advanced by Rs 50 to Rs 2,450-2,475, while its dal local and best quality traded higher by the similar margin to Rs 2,725-2,750 and Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal, respectively.
