Becomes 46th most-valued firm on the bourse, with market capitalisation of Rs 62,062 cr

Shares of Avenue Supermarts (D-Mart) touched their all-time high of Rs 1,018 on the BSE on Thursday, before closing at Rs 994.45, up 0.5 per cent from the previous close. 

This made the retailer the 46th most-valued company on the bourse, with a market capitalisation of Rs 62,062 crore. 

With this promoter, Radhakishan Damani is now the ninth richest Indian, according to the Forbes Real Time Ranking of Indian billionaires. 

Since the IPO in March, with shares priced at Rs 299 a piece, the value of Damani’s stake in Avenue Supermarts has gone up from Rs 15,339 crore to Rs 51,015 crore, a gain of Rs 24,461 crore.
