Barring a surge in groundnut oil on millers buying, the oils and oilseeds market closed on a steady note today.
Traders said increased buying by millers to meet the ongoing marriage season demand pushed up wholesale groundnut oil prices.
They said restricted arrivals and higher advices from Gujarat further fueled the uptrend in groundnut oil prices.
Groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) oil shot up by Rs 250 to Rs 7,600 per quintal. Groundnut solvent refined followed suit and traded higher by Rs 25 to Rs 1,450-1,460 per tin.
