 If the monsoon is normal this year, fiscal 2003-04 will see higher growth with milder inflation

 As per the latest data released by the Central Statitical Organisation (CSO), the Indian economy grew by 4.3 per cent in 2002-03, only a shade below the advance estimate (which projected 4.4 per cent GDP growth) released earlier.

 With industry and services growing at 6.0 and 7.1 per cent respectively, the poor performance of agriculture is solely responsible for pulling down the overall GDP.
