There is no arrival in the market and the current supply is from the inventory of stockists. On an average, stockists are releasing 8,000 to 12,000 bags (each of 100 kg) a day and the offtake too is almost the same.
Demand from domestic as well as overseas markets is normal, according to market sources. The sowing of the next crop is expected to start by the end of May in north Rajasthan.
Commodity analysts said the market may not fall from the current levels. Last week, the near-month contract on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) opened strong, but did not sustain the higher level.
