Guarseed prices dropped by Rs 17, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 2,325 per quintal in futures trade on profit-booking by traders.
Marketmen said fall in demand, triggered by pick up in supply at spot markets, put weight on traders to book profit at higher levels, this caused a downfall in guarseed futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed prices for August contract delivery lost by Rs 17, or 0.73 per cent to Rs 2,325 per quintal, with an open interest of 46,940 lots.
Most-active July contract delivery also slipped by Rs 16 or 0.69 per cent to Rs 2,307 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,36,540 lots.
