Guarseed prices fell by Rs 25 or 1.06 per cent to Rs 2,344 per quintal in futures trade on fresh selling by traders and poor physical demand.
Marketmen said traders reduced their holdings in line with weak demand and excess supply in physical markets, this caused the fall in guarseed futures prices.
In the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the guarseed for the August contract dipped Rs 25, or 1.06 per cent to Rs 2,344 per quintal, with an open interest of 980 lots.
The May-month contract eased by Rs 17 or 0.75 per cent to Rs 2,294 per quintal, with an open interest of 55,030 lots.
