Gur closes steady in thin trade

Gur held steady in the wholesale jaggery market today as prices, after moving in a tight range on alternate small bouts of trading, closed at previous levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also remained flat in thin trade.

Market analysts said ample stocks positions against scattered small buying activities largely kept prices unchanged.

Following were today's quotations per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,350-2,400, pedi Rs 2,550-2,600, Dhayya Rs 2,650-2,700, and Shakkar Rs 2,700-2,800
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,900-2,000, chakku Rs 2,050-2,250 and Khurpa Rs 2,100-2,150
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,250-2,350 and Dhaya Rs 2,500-2,550
