Gur declines on sluggish demand

Gur prices moved in a tight range in Delhi on restricted buying in the wholesale jaggery market today, while in Muzzafarnagar, the commodity declined on sluggish demand from stockists in view of rainy season. 

Marketmen said sluggish demand from stockists and retailers against sufficient stocks position mainly led to a fall in gur prices at Muzzafarnagar.

At Muzzafarnagar, gur raskat fell by Rs 100 to Rs 1,900-1,950, while chakku eased to Rs 2,375-2,500 against the last close of Rs 2,400-2,575 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, Pedi Rs 2,900-3,000 and Dhayya N.T., shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,900-1,950, chakku Rs 2,375-2,500 and Khurpa N.T
In Muradnagar: Pedi 2,700-2,750 and Dhaya N.A
