Gur dhayya fell on sluggish demand

Gur dhayya prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale jaggery market in the national capital today following sluggish demand.  

Gur chakku in Muzaffarnagar dropped by Rs 25 per quintal on fresh supply.

Market analysts said weak demand and increased supply mainly pulled down gur dhayya and chakku prices.

In Delhi, gur dhayya slided by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 3,200-3,300 per quintal. In Muzaffarnagar, gur chakku eased by Rs 25 to close at Rs 2,425-2,500 per quintal.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties maintained last closing levels on little activity.

Following were today's quotations per quintal:  

Chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 3,000-3,100, Dhayya Rs 3,200-3,300, and Shakkar Rs 3,200-3,300
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,350-2,450, chakku Rs 2,425-2,500 and Khurpa N.T
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,750-2,800 and Dhaya Rs NA
