Gur ends higher on brisk buying

Gur prices strengthened by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following brisk buying against paucity of stocks. 

Muzaffarnagar gur market also showed a sharp rise of Rs 250 on poor supply amid brisk buying.    

Market analysts said negligible arrivals due to steep fall in production because of the rise in mercury, supported by heavy buying by retailers and stockist led to the rise in gur prices.

In Delhi, gur chakku rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 2,700-2,800 per quintal, gur shakkar prices also moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal.

In Muzaffarnagar, gur chakku jumped up by Rs 250 to Rs 2,500-2,625, while gur khurpa moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal.

Gur raskat was also quoted at Rs 2,175-2,300 against Rs 2,175-2,250 per quintal previously.
