Gur futures prices slipped further by Rs 18 to Rs 1,006 per 40 kg today following renewed selling in tandem with weak spot markets sentiment.
Market analysts said sluggish demand in physical markets dampened the trading sentiments here. Also, bumper production of sugar-cane this year put pressure on the gur futures prices, they added.
At the National commodity and Derivatives Exchange, gur prices for delivery in July shed Rs 18, or 1.76% to Rs 1,006 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 12,380 lots.
Gur prices for delivery in September also fell by Rs 16.50, or 1.58% to Rs 1,030 per 40 kg, clocking an open interest of 3,100 lots.
