Gur futures ease on sluggish spot demand

Gur prices weakened by Rs 12.50 to Rs 1,065 per 40 kg in the futures trade today as traders preferred to off-load positions tracking weak spot market sentiment.

Reports of higher sugar-cane production this year also influenced the market sentiment.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, September gur declined by Rs 12.50, or 1.16% to Rs 1,065 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 1,790 lots.

The November contract too slipped by Rs 2, or 0.25% to Rs 998 per 40 kg with an open interest of 4,920 lots.
