Gur prices tumbled over one per cent, or Rs 11.40, to Rs 922.60 per 40 kg in futures trading today, as speculators offloaded their positions, driven by weak demand in spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, September contract delivery fell by Rs 11.40, or 1.22 per cent, to Rs 922.60 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 6,800 lots.

Likewise, gur for delivery in July contract delivery shed Rs 5.80, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 965.20 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 10,830 lots.

Marketmen said fall in demand and rains in many parts of gur manufacturing areas weighed on the gur prices in futures trading.
