Gur futures prices rose by Rs 14 to Rs 982 per 40 kg today, as traders increased their holdings at previous lower levels.

Market analysts said attractive lower levels mainly pushed speculators to enlarge their positions amid rising demand in spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, gur price for delivery in January at Muzzafarnagar was quoted higher by Rs 14, or 1.45 per cent to Rs 982 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 15,760 lots.

The sweetner's price for delivery in current month December also went up by Rs 11, or 1.19 per cent to Rs 939 per 40 kg, clocking an open interest of 12,050 lots.
