Gur futures gain on spot demand

Gur futures prices firmed up by Rs 11.20 to Rs 1,112 per 40 kg in future trading today on speculative buying in line with restricted supply in the spot market.

Market analysts said paucity of stocks against strong seasonal demand in physical markets, influenced trading sentiments here in gur future prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, gur futures prices for far September-month delivery contract hardened by Rs 11.20, or 2.77 per cent, to Rs 1,112 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 120 lots.

Most active March-month delivery contract went up by Rs 6, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 983 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 17,840 lots.

Meanwhile, January-month delivery contract moved up by Rs 2, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 940 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 7,120 lots.
