The wholesale gur (jaggery) prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today, following pick up in demand from retailers and stockist.
Market analysts said rise in demand due to starting of new month amid restricted supply mainly pushed up gur prices.
In Delhi, gur pedi and dhayya prices gained by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,300-2,350 and Rs 2,350-2,400 per quintal, respectively.
Gur chakku and shakkar prices also went up by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,250-2,300 and Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal, respectively.
At Muzaffarnagar, fresh buying by alcohol making industries mainly brought the rise in gur raskat by Rs 50 to Rs 1,850-1,950 from Rs 1,800-1,900 per quintal yesterday.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,050-2,100 and Dhaya Rs 2,100-2,150
