Gur pedi, shakkar fall on ample supply

Gur pedi and shakkar prices fell by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today following increased arrivals amid reduced offtake.  

Market analysts said slackness in demand amid adequate stocks position, mainly pulled down gur pedi and shakkar prices.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties maintained last closing levels on select support.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market remained steady in thin trade. In Delhi, gur pedi prices dropped from Rs 2,250-2,300 to Rs 2,200-2,250 per quintal.

Shakkar prices also fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2,400-2,450 from Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal.

Following were today's quotations in Rs per quintal: 

Chakku Rs 2,200-2,250, pedi Rs 2,200-2,250, Dhayya Rs 2,250-2,300 and Shakkar Rs 2,400-2,45
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,750-1,850, chakku Rs 2,000 -2,200 and Khurpa Rs 1,950-2,000
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,000-2,050 and Dhaya Rs 2,000-2,050
