Gur remains steady in thin trade

Steady conditions prevailed in the wholesale gur (jaggery) market today as prices moved in a tight range and settled around previous levels.

Market analysts said adequate stocks position against scattered demand mainly kept gur prices steady.

Following were today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Chakku 2,200-2,250, pedi 2,250-2,300, Dhayya 2,250-2,300 and Shakkar 2,450-2,500
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat 1,750-1,850, chakku 2,000-2,200 and Khurpa 1,950-2,000
Muradnagar: Pedi 2,000-2,050 and Dhaya 2,000-2,050
