Gur up on better offtake, reduced arrivals

Gur pedi prices spurted in the national capital today on restricted supply, driven by increased buying by stockists and retailers.

Marketmen said fall in supply along with better offtake by retailers, mainly pushed up gur pedi prices. Muradnagar gur market also showed a rise or Rs 100 per quintal in gur pedi due to poor supply.

In Delhi, gur pedi rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2,850-2,950 per quintal on better offtake.

Turning to Muradnagar, gur pedi showed fluctuations on short supply and prices traded higher by Rs 100 at Rs 2,700- 2,750 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, Pedi Rs 2,850-2,950 and Dhayya N.T., shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,050-2,100, chakku Rs 2,400-2,575 and Khurpa N.T
In Muradnagar: Pedi 2,700-2,750 and Dhaya N.A
