Stocks of textile companies have been appreciating in the last three months, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). With a few exceptions , all scrips have gained.
Lakshmi Mills , which ended the day today at the BSE at Rs 224.75, has appreciated by over 50 per cent since the beginning of October. Arvind Mills, up 3.98 per cent, ended the day today at Rs 22.20.
Vardhman Polytex ended the day today at Rs 41.40. The scrip has gone up by over 28 per cent in the last three months. Mahavir Spinning, which is up by 13.36 per cent, ended the day today at Rs 62.35.

Forbes Gokak finished today at Rs 67.85 on the BSE. The scrip rose by over 4 per cent since the beginning of October. Aarvee Denim, up 13.14 per cent, ended the day today at Rs 9.25, also on the BSE. Loyal Textile has gone by 4.58 per cent since October and ended the day today at Rs 35.35.
Unlike the prevalent trend, the stocks of two companies which fell in the last three months were Dawn Mills, down 2.54 per cent and ended the day at Rs 115.00 and Madura Coats, down 0.75 per cent, which finished at Rs 39.20.
The textile industry has seen some positive growth in the last few months and the ministry and industry participants are hoping that this is beginning of a long demand pull for the industry.
Despite constant increase in the input costs, exports of India textiles, especially the man made and synthetic variety, have been increasing.
