Shares of Hindustan Construction Company surged almost 6 per cent after the company said that its joint venture with GVPR Engineers (GVPR), has been awarded a contract for diversion of flood water from Sakleshpura (West) to Kolar / Chikkaballapur (East) under Yettinahole Diversion Project-Package-4 from Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd.
The value of the contract is Rs 903.83 crore. The company’s share in the total value of the contract is 50% i.e. Rs. 451.92 Crore. The project will be completed in 36 months, said the company in a filing.
The stock is currently trading at Rs 13.99 up 5.9 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). It touched a high of Rs 14.10 and a low of Rs 13.68 during the day. A total of 2,20,4032 shares changed hands at both the BSE and NSE on Tuesday against 10-day volume average of 907,654.
