Despite a sharp increase in FII activity in the week under review, the Sensex ended 0.75% lower at 6,584 - cutting short the four-week winning streak as operators played spoilsport by booking profits.In the week ended February 19, the Sensex moved in a wide range between 6,719.20 points and 6,532.50 points before ending the week at 6584.32 points as against the last weekend close of 6,633.76 points - a net fall of 49.44 points.FIIs pumped in funds to the tune of Rs 2,054.60 crore in the first four days of the week. As per figures released by Sebi, FIIs' net purchases touched a massive Rs 5,868 crore in the month till February 17 when compared to inflows of Rs 1,246 crore in January.On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the Nifty dipped 26.50 points to 2,055.55 points.The volume of business on the BSE and the NSE was relatively low at Rs 11,037 crore and Rs 23,355 crore, respectively, when compared with Rs 12,108 crore and Rs 25,080 crore, respectively, last week.
