Hindalco GDR up 2.46%

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was up 1.57 per cent to 966.51 on Thursday in early trades. Among ISDI global depository receipts (GDRs), four advanced, one remained unchanged and two lost ground.
 
The major gainers were Hindalco up 2.46 per cent to $29.20 and a volume of 10,000 GDRs, Ranbaxy up 2.13 per cent to $24.00 registering volume of 36,000 GDRs and Reliance up 1.56 per cent to $23.40 registering volume of 72,400 GDRs. The losers were ITC down 0.17 per cent to $24.46 and SBI down 0.04 per cent to $25.10 registering volume of 12,600 GDRs.
 
The ISDI, representing the GDRs and ADRs of 15 actively traded companies, looked up by 1.56 per cent to 963.72 on September 29 as against the previous level of 948.95. The ISDI price to earnings ratio also moved up by 1.20 per cent to 17.54 from 17.33 previously.
 
Among the ISDI GDRs and ADRs, there were twelve gainers, one loser and two ruled steady and among ISDI ADR, all eight advanced
 
The ADRs of Satyam Computers, Wipro and Infosys Tech firmed up to $23.50, $18.22 and $56.44 respectively from $22.55, $17.54 and $54.76 previously. among. However, the GDR of State Bank of India and ITC eased to $25.00 and $24.46 respectively from $25.11 and $24.50 previously.
 
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the world in Asia stocks rose after oil prices fell. The Morgan Stanley Capital International Asia-Pacific Index, added 1.4 per cent to 88.97 in Tokyo. Japan's Topix index rose 1.2 per cent.
 
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 1.3 per cent. China's benchmarks were the only ones that fell in Asia. The Nikkei lost ten per cent and the Topix shed nine per cent in dollar terms in the third quarter.
 
Dow average futures expiring in December shed 48 to 10,075 in New York. S&P 500 futures lost 0.70 to 1114.50. Nasdaq-100 Index futures gained 0.50 to 1416. The Dow average has dropped 2.9 per cent and the Nasdaq Composite Index has slid 7.5 per cent.
