HMT rises on govt nod to sell resources

Shares of HMT hit the 10 per cent upper circuit, to Rs 31.90, on reports that the government has allowed 10 sick PSUs, including HMT, to sell their surplus land and raise resources.

Earlier, the Board of Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises had recommended the revival of 25 sick units, of which 10 have been allowed to sell their surplus land for the revival and modernisation of PSUs. The stock opened at Rs 29.85 and made an intraday low of Rs 29 with trading volumes of 1.61 lakh shares (about four times of its two-week average).
