HUL turns ex-dividend, stock down 3%

The company had declared a dividend of Rs 12.50 per share, including special dividend of Rs 8 per share of face value of Re 1/- each

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) is trading lower by 3% at Rs 531 after the stock of fast moving consumer goods company turned ex-dividend today.

The board of directors of the company at its meeting held on October 26, had declared a total dividend of Rs 12.50 per share, which include an interim dividend of Rs 4.50 per share and special dividend of Rs 8 per share of face value of Re 1/- each.

The company said that it has fixed November 02, 2012 as record date for the purpose of determining the entitlement of the shareholders for the interim dividend. The dividend will be paid to the shareholders on or after November 16, 2012.

The stock opened at Rs 538 and hit a high of Rs 539 on the BSE. A combined 703,085 shares have changed hands on the counter till early noon deals on both the exchanges.
