The scrip touched a high of Rs 74 and finally ended at Rs 73, up 7.5%. Around 1.48 million shares were traded on the BSE as against the two-week daily average traded volumes of 2 million shares.

Idea Cellular has surged 6.5% and touched a high of Rs 72, on the back of the development that the company has added 1.6 million to its subscriber base in June as compared to 1.3 million in May.
The counter has clocked a volume around of 912,000 shares so far on the BSE, as against its two -week average traded quantity of 2.1 million shares.
The Aditya Birla group company posted strong results in the March 2009 quarter. The company has experienced a rise in subscribers in the metros; in Delhi it added users after losing them for two months while in Mumbai, the number of net additions nearly trebled. Idea also appears to be doing well in other states where it had recently rolled out services such as Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Bihar.
