IL&FS Transportation Networks surged 3.41% on reports that the infrastructure company through its subsidiary in Spain, Elsamex SA, has bagged Rs 1,348.52 crore ($216.7 million) worth road contracts in Botswana, which are financed by the World Bank.
Elsamex has secured a road contract from the roads department of Ministry of Transport and Communications, Botswana, under the output category; and a performance-based road contracts system (OPRC) for a period of 10 years effective from February 19, 2014.
The total length of the roads to be maintained for both the contracts is 267.4 km, the company stated in a release today.
The stock touched a high of Rs 104.20 and a low of Rs 109.90 on the BSE on Friday. A total of 1,27,645 shares of the company changed hands on both the bourses today as against a 10-day average of 49,173.
