IT stocks had a good run, Infosys Technologies ended at $67.24, up 1.11 points or 1.68%, Wipro ended at $14.48, Up 0.06 points or 0.42%, Patni Computer System ended flat at $19.27, Satyam Computer Services closed at $4.54, Up 0.08 points or 1.79%.
Investors also cashed in on banks, HDFC Bank closed at $180.99, up 0.46 points or 0.25%, ICICI Bank surged to $49.57, up 0.71 points or 1.45%.
Auto stocks also had a smooth ride, Tata Motors ended at $24.74, up 0.09 points or 0.37%
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam ended at $2.90, up 0.05 points or 1.75% and Sify ended at $2.79, up 0.35 points or 14.34%.
