The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was up 0.60 per cent to 490.17 on Tuesday (April 1), in London early trades as compared to its previous close. Among Indian global depository receipts, six advanced and only one lost ground.

The major gainers were State Bank of India (up 2.82 per cent to $14.60), Hindalco (up 2.67 per cent to $11.55) and Reliance (up 2.24 per cent to $11.88) and the only loser was Larsen & Toubro (down 0.13 per cent to $7.72). Reliance was heavily traded in the morning session today, registering volumes of around 1,00,000 GDRs.

On March 31, among Indian American depository receipts, only one advanced and eight lost ground.

The only gainer was MTNL (up 0.73 per cent to $4.15) and the major losers were Silverline (down 9.64 per cent to $1.50), Satyam Computer (down 8.20 per cent to $8.28) and Infosys (down 4.14 per cent to $61.35).

Indian securities listed on the US exchanges were nearly all lower on Monday , save for Telco the MTNL ADR which was up 3 cents to $4.15 and the Rediff.com ADR (up 24 cents to $3.09).

Tech heavyweights Infy, the Infosys Tech ADR (down $2.65 to $61.25), the Wipro ADR (down 91 cents to $28.10) and the Satyam Computer ADR (down 74 cents to $8.28), all ended in the negative zone.

The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 153.64 points or 1.9 per cent to 7992.13 on Monday, while the Nasdaq composite fell 28.43 points or 2.1 per cent to 1341.17.

The S&P 500 index dipped 15.32 points or 1.8 per cent to 848.18. Meanwhile elsewhere in the world, the FTSE 100 index was up 60.5 points to 3673.80 with oil and banking shares leading the way.
