Linseedoil prices rose in a fairly active oils and oilseeds market here today due to good demand from paint industry amidst thin supply position.
Elsewhere, castorseed bold and castoroil commercial both firmed up on better enquiries from shippers and soap manufacturers.
Meanwhile, castorseed futures declined in the absence of export enquiries.
Refined palmolein edged up further on increased retail offtake coupled with higher Malaysian advice.
Groundnutoil however, held steady owing to lack of worthwhile buying activity.
In non-edible segment, linseedoil shot up by Rs 10 per ten kgs to Rs 640 from overnight closing level of Rs 630.
Castorseeds bold gained by Rs 25 per 100 kgs to Rs 4,325 from Rs 4,300 and castoroil commercial moved up by Rs 5 per kgs to Rs 895 as against Rs 890 yesterday.
Turning to edible-oil section, refined palmolein looked up by Rs 2 per 10 kgs to Rs 562 from Rs 560 previously. Groundnutoil held steady at Rs 760 per 10 kgs.
Moving to futures section, castorseeds March delivery resumed lower at Rs 3,500, later it moved up to Rs 3,524 before concluding at Rs 3,488 as against Rs 3,514 previously, showing a fall of Rs 26 per tonne.
