While banking and cement stocks continue to witness bearish trends, recovery in select heavyweights, pharma and steady gains in select tech stocks has curbed the losses of the index further in late noon trades. The Sensex is now down 21 points at 6,257, and the Nifty is weak at 1,929 - down six points.SBI has scaled down 2% (Rs 13) to Rs 607. While ICICI Bank has shed 2.47% (Rs 9) to Rs 375, HDFC Bank is down a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 535.HLL has recovered further and is now down a rupee at Rs 142.Grasim is down 1.52% (Rs 19) at Rs 1,205. While ACC has slipped a per cent (Rs 3) to Rs 361, Gujarat Ambuja is up Rs 2 at Rs 425.Hindalco at Rs 1,239 (down Rs 15 or 1.21%), BHEL at Rs 801 (down Rs 20 or 2.41%), Reliance Energy at Rs 487 (down Rs 7 or 1.50%) and Zee at Rs 130 (down Rs 3 or 1.97%) continue to exhibit weak trends.ITC has soared 2.32% (Rs 32) to Rs 1,434. Reliance is up Rs 2 at Rs 541, after recent weakness. Bharti has moved up 2.55% (Rs 5) to Rs 207.Ranbaxy (up Rs 3 to Rs 911) and Cipla (up Rs 3 to Rs 258) have rebounded from lower levels. Dr. Reddy's, however, is marginally down at Rs 655.Infosys is unchanged with a per cent loss (Rs 16) at Rs 1,904. While Satyam has gained 1.66% (Rs 7) to Rs 417, Wipro is marginally up by Rs 4 at Rs 640.
