Jeera prices fell by Rs 114 to Rs 14,577 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing levels amid expectations of higher output this year.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the March contract for jeera fell by Rs 114, or 0.78% to Rs 14,577 per quintal with an open interest of 14,067 lots.
The February contract lost Rs 103, or 0.71% to Rs 14,316 per quintal in 5,946 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators on expectations of higher output this year mainly influenced the jeera prices at futures trade.
