Jeera prices declined by Rs 68 to Rs 16,090 per quintal in futures trading today on profit-booking by speculators amid fresh arrivals in the physical markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July declined by Rs 68, or 0.42%, to Rs 16,090 per quintal, with an open interest of 798 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in May shed Rs 6, or 0.04%, to Rs 15,152 per quintal, with an open interest of 18,381 lots.

Market analysts said apart from profit-booking by speculators, fresh arrivals kept the pressure on the jeera futures prices.
