Jeera prices declined by Rs 33 to Rs 13,667 per quintal in futures trade today, as speculators indulged in booking profits at existing higher levels.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange platform, jeera for December delivery declined by Rs 33, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 13,667 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,017 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in January shed Rs 3, or 0.02 per cent to Rs 14,030 per quintal, with a business turnover of 13,014 lots.

Analysts said profit-bookings by speculators at prevailing higher levels led to a decline in jeera prices but spot demand and lower supplies, restricted losses.
