Jeera prices fell by Rs 61 to Rs 15,580 per quintal in futures trade today, as speculators reduced their positions, triggered by weak exports.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), jeera for April fell by Rs 61, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 15,580 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,161 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in January lost Rs 10, or 0.07 per cent to Rs 14,520 per quintal, with a business volume of 1,674 lots.
Market analysts said subdued exports demand and rise in sowing of jeera, weighed on the sentiment at futures trade here.
